The onset of every Ramanavami in Bangalore brings a tsunami of Musical feast that is served with an essence of raga, the spirit of tala and the emotion of Bhava. From the past 77 years we at Sree Ramaseva Mandali, have dedicated ourself for the growth of the rich Cultural heritage of this country by conducting Sree Ramanavami National Music Festivals with a rich and colourful fare of cultural programmes in which artistes from all parts of the world participate.
The Mandali was established in the year 1939, by Sri.S.V.Narayanaswamy Rao, who dedicated his entire life for the preserving and protecting the rich cultural heritage of the country. He was the first person to organise a Music festival as part of the Ramanavamai Celebrations, which now has become a cultural icon of the Country. The Mandali was referred to as “The Temple of Music” by Sri Rajagopalachari the then Governor General of India.
Sree Ramaseva Mandali’s Sree Ramanavami National Music is the longest Indian Classical Music Festival in the world spanning for a period of 31-36 days.
About The Management
Shri.Mani Narayan Swamy is an officer of Indian Administrative Service was served from the year 1953 to 1984, in various assignments with the Secretary of Finance Government of Karnataka and the Secretary of Ministry of Commerce,Government of India, etc. He was the President of United Breweries International and he is associated with many NGO’s including the Indian Foundation for Arts etc.
Dr.C.S.Kedar is the person who supported S.N.Varadaraj after the death of our beloved Founder Late.S.V.Narayanaswamy Rao. The Mandali could attain new heights only because of blessings of lord Rama and the patronage of Dr.C.S.Kedar. As an I.A.S officer he served as the Joint Secretary to the Cabinet, Government of India, Director General of E.S.I.C, Chairman of Bangalore Development Authority and K.U.I.D.F.C. He also served as the Finance Secretary to the Government of Karnataka.
Dr.A.Raveendra is a great music lover and is guiding the Mandali as our Vice President. He retired as the Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka. He also served as the Chairman of Bangalore Development Authority.
The youngest son of our founder Sri.S.V.Narayanaswamy Rao and a Mechanical Engineer by profession left his job at Escorts, after the death of our founder for the purpose of continuing the tradition left by his father. With the blessings of Lord Rama and our beloved founder and with the support of Dr.C.S.Kedar our Chief Patron, the organisation reaching new heights, year by year.
